Starting at the RISC OS Southwest Show, which takes place on Saturday,
22nd February at the Arnos Manor Hotel in Bristol, the RiscPiC cases for
the Raspberry Pi will be available to buy at reduced prices - putting
them below cost price.
These prices will then be repeated at subsequent shows until stock of
the cases is gone. There are currently no plans to replenish stock of
existing models, so once those remaining are gone there are unlikely to
be any more available in their current forms.
The two main case designs are the RiscPiC-standard and the RiscPiC-mini,
both suitable for all B and B+ models of Pi except the latest Raspberry
Pi 4, and the new prices are:
RiscPiC-standard: £30 including VAT (normal price £50 inc.)
RiscPiC-mini: £20 including VAT (normal price £30 inc.)
In addition, any remaining stock of the original RiscPiC-mini case,
which was only suitable for the original Raspberry Pi Model B, will be
priced at £10 including VAT, and any remaining 'blemished' (which
suffered minor defects during production, but which are still useable)
will be available for just £5 including VAT.
The RiscPiC cases were designed for the Raspberry Pi with RISC OS and
its users in mind, and as a tribute to he iconic RiscPC. There are two
main cases in the range, the RiscPiC-mini and the RiscPi-standard, both
of which feature a curved front reminiscent of the Acorn computer.
The -standard case is designed to allow most of the connections found on
the left hand side of the Raspberry Pi to be fed out of the rear of the
case if you have suitable adapters (a HDMI adapter is included).
The -mini is smaller, and is designed as a snug fit for the Pi, with all
of the connections directly available through the side of the case.
