game wouldn't have any problem paying that much. After much uproar, it
later got reduced to $70 USD, but oddly enough this didn't stifle the
game's critics. But maybe a recently announced feature of the game
    justifies the game's price.

That feature being that you can finally toggle an option to get
Claptrap, the annoying robot buddy that people have hated since the
first game, to SHUT THE FUCK UP.*

I mean, sure, another option might be to not insert a character people
hate into the game, or at least not make him so prominent that you
need an option to turn him off, but that sort of customer-pleasing
feature isn't what companies what Gearbox are known for. Actually,
we're lucky that Gearbox isn't selling the 'Mute Claptrap' feature as optional DLC.

Either way, it still won't get me to buy the game.

I also see that good old Randy has put his foot in it again by tweeting
that BL:4 will take even longer before it goes on such a steep discount
as BL:3. Maybe he was worried that people were starting to forget about
the whole $80 drama so he thought it was time to remind them about it?

It must be fun working in the Gearbox PR dept. where you wake up every
morning thinking, what has he done now.

Oh my god. They actually did the meme!! They did the meme of "introduce annoying character and market being able to shut them up"! I'm amazed.

He also queried fans about whether making the next Borderlands game a
platform exclusive (without specifying the platform) was something
they should aspire to. Fans were not pleased with the notion.

As PC Gamer suggested, somebody needs to take away his phone. But I
think CEOs like him think that ANY publicity is good publicity... and
that anything that comes out of their mouth is worth listening to.

What sort of mindset would make you think that gamers would aspire to
having a platform exclusive game. Normally I'd say this game was just ok
but as there's lots of people that can't play it I now find it really
    good, I mean seriously?

    Forgetting already?

The idea that a PC Exclusive game is a game done right for PC, not
compromised by the inferior controls/input/memory size/etc of a console.

Tiny graphic cell size, popup radial menus, etc; Hallmarks of a game
designed for console limitations, then forced on PC players unchanged.
Who needs radial menus on a PC with 104 keys, not 6 or whatever it is
    consoles have?

Designed for all platforms really means designed for the worst of them
    and forced on everyone.

Hell yeah, bring back PC exclusive games!
