Battlefield 2042 Won't Run Without Secure Boot

BF2042 sucked on release -- I tried it on the EA monthly plan thing
and quickly shitcanned it. But over time it did evolve into a pretty
good time, so on the third time I retried it and bought (and a heavy
discount, I think for $15) it was a keeper.
However, after firing it up for the first time in a few weeks on the
latest update they're requing Secure Boot. This is the first time
I've seen a game simply refuse to run until Secure Boot is enabled in
the BIOS. But then again, on my latest rig I didn't even realize it
was disabled, and it really shouldn't be disabled for anyone at this
point.
So clearly this is a move aimed at stopping cheaters.

my BIOS setting should be, how fascist of them"
Experienced Multiplayer Gamer: "Thanks for shutting down the
cheaters"
