Ok, this is a text adventure game, and a prequel to Dead Synchronicity: Tomorrow Comes Today, $3: https://store.steampowered.com/app/339190/Dead_Synchronicity_Tomorrow_Comes_Today/
http://www.fictiorama.com/en/ds-the-longest-night/

I came across this while browsing the current gamersgate.com sale, and then reading reviews for Tomorrow Comes Today on steam, which mentioned the
prequel.
