• IIGS System 6.0.4: Boot Icons gone

From Dirk Froehling@21:1/5 to All on Sat Nov 26 16:33:40 2022
    Hi,

I am using System 6.0.4 on my Apple IIGS. All of a sudden, all the
startup icons indicating loading of CDEVs, NDAs, drivers etc. have
disappeared. All my extensions load fine, only the icons don't show up.
I swear I did not change anything...

Is there an option to switch the icon display on or off during boot? I
    don't remember such an option.

    Thanks
    Dirk

"For users who don't like a cluttered boot screen, setting
bit 1 of Battery RAM location $5F prevents ShowBootInfo from
displaying icons. (It still displays text strings.)"

I should probably mention the "Set Start" control panel has a checkbox
    to enable/disable startup icons.

Thanks Kelvin, you are right with both statements: I fixed it by
removing the battery for a short time and now I even found the checkbox
    in "Set Start".
