Hello,
I have taken my trusty M102 on the train now for more than 6 years, for entertainment, programming and text-writing. Since a few months, I'm having problems with it. The batteries are running out extremely fast. I'm using rechargeable NiCads.
I am aware that NiCads don't give me the 20 hours running time that normal alkaline ones do, but it is really becoming ridiculously short, I estimate
at the most 1 or 2 hours. Even when I don't turn the computer on, the batteries have died after a week or so...
Have my NiCads gone soft ? Is the internal battery gone ? Can I replace
that one myself ? If yes, how ? Is there a manual somewhere on how to do it
?
Or is there another explanation ?

Those 100s, 102s, & 200s (Tandy 1983-88) notebooks work better with 20 hours from 4 AA batteries. I had those nicads on my 200, and hated them.
