You responded to a 15 year old message. If you still have a working CoCo
and disk system, I would set up a null modem cable between the CoCo and
Windows system and transfer the files using the Z-MODEM serial RS-232 protocols.
As to reading the VIP writer files on a PC system, I found it best to
write a program to strip the 8th bit of each character in the VIP file.
Then you can read the data using Notepad or Wordpad.

Would anyone happen to know the fileformats for VIP writer and/or
McPaint? or possibly a conversion program to convert to a PC format to
allow for editing?

Mike...welcome to the same problem as me. I have dozens of floppy
discs containing documents written using VIP Writer which I want to
extract. But how? I've even kept my old computer which takes both size floppies plus a disc drive just in case I ever find a way of getting the material out of the discs. At the moment I'm on Windows 7. Let me
know if you ever find an answer please. Thanks, John.
