    "Beryllium oxide

At the time of the subject equipment, the thermal paste used between semiconductors and heatsinks, typically contained beryllium oxide (BeO). Beryllium oxide is known to be carcinogenic.

I think it was in the nineties, that I started to see electronics stores advertising that their new stocks of thermal paste were now free of
    beryllium oxide."

Are people using their tongues to lick off the old, dried paste?

Like twirling a tip of a fine paintbrush between your lips... except
it's a radium paint to illuminate watch dials?

The young pups imagine the world wants to be saved. Mostly, it doesn't.

By all means, do what you believe to be necessary.

As for myself, I have never even considered tasting my PS/2s. Whenever I service one of my systems, I do not feel tempted to caress an exposed
heatsink that has compound smeared on it, nor does the lubrication on a
floppy drive's R/W head tempt me to partake of the forbidden fruit.

If I do get any compound on my hands, I at least wipe the compound off
    before handling food.

A true challenge is to find an *IBN 5100* for *John Titor* <-- no not a
    typo.

Don't forget to add that this hack will destroy the one billion dollar
male enhancement industry. This offer will only last until the existing
    stock is used up.

But for some odd reason, the ad will run for years....
