What rabbit hole do we have here?
Axis made a number of network appliances, they're probably best known for their Network Print Servers, especially their network (Ethernet or Token-Ring) to parallel direct plug-in boxes that made it possible to network attach older printers that had no
network card option (like the IBM 4019 and 4029 laser printers). In the middle 1990s, when the Storpoint was popular, CD-ROM drives were not yet a common feature on all PCs, so providing a network attachment for a SCSI CD-ROM drive made some sense, but
it was a product that quickly became obsolete.
