If you are open to the idea of being a wide-eyed innocent, you could
bring up a 4-4, select values, save config, then czech the configured attributes. This should identify the POS registers for the ODM items.

I would say (and may be wrong here) that it is up to the kernel mode driver to translate the made selection from the ODM items (e.g. if interrupt 3, 5 or 7) into POS register bits.

Some weiro who just looked into the AIX 4.1.3 source code found exactly that translation being part of the DRIVER when it's about the Corvette (bos/diag/tu/corv/corvette.c). No source code available for the 4-4.
Hope I will never see that guy again...

But you would need to read the POS registers to get the raw values, right? Then change a setting, re-read the POS registers...repeat.

I haven't found how to read the card's configuration space, especially with -CD SETUP being set.

Acording to some old thread, Stefan Tibus and Ryan Alswede had some AIX code running that involved the MIOCFGGET ioctl and was helpful for creating the NT adf & driver for the Ultimedia Audio card.
    Are you guys still around?

    Ryan Alswede still draws breath.
