  • I have an old grid 386 mc system and cannot get it to boot on a tandy 5

    I thought that they were the same but they are not..
    It looks like it will boot but does not.

    my tandy 5000 systems instantly recognize the "new" reference diskette.

    Try booting to QBMCA or some other refstamped disk and check the planar ID and machine model/submodel values.

    Take photos of the planar so we can compare it to the Tandy one... (and create a page about it, if it differs).

    Might be just a software/artificial incompatibility or an actual hardware difference.
