  • Wanted: PS/2 L40 SX main battery

    Looking for a main battery. Doesn’t need to work as I can send it out to be rebuilt.

    By the way, if you're planning to rebuild a 8543 main battery, use NiMH cells in place of the original NiCD cells. They charge using the same electrical profile (Lithium Ion or LiPo uses a different voltage and charging profile). The "gotcha" is that
    NiMH cells tend to be slightly larger in diameter than NiCD cells, so you have to be very careful with your sourcing. Generally this means that you have to settle for NiMH cells with a lower mAH rating. I don't have a battery pack to sell, I unloaded
    my L40 SX quite some time ago (I think to someone in this newsgroup).
