    RPQs were used to order options. What does "RPQ" mean? Request Pnnn Quote?

    RPQs were generally things not in the normal product line that people
    were willing to have special ordered.
    A lot of things that became standard options were originally an RPQ
    and after someone else paid for the engineering, IBM started offering
    it is a regular option.
    RIPL was an example of that.
