    Mechanical (and in some cases possibly electrical) compatibility.

    The basic 32-bit non-MME slot is defined, but to my knowledge, it was
    never actually implemented in this form.

    Is channel memory supported on any RS/6000? I don't think so...

    I have never seen or read of an RS/6000 MME adapter...

    Yeah, or any RS/6000 memory adapter period.

    It would hurt the performance a lot, even with a tight MMC. All the
    other complications aside...
