    I would describe the combat in Eye of the Beholder as slow but it
    definitely is not turn based. The game and its combat runs in real
    time. You might be confusing Eye of the Beholder with the gold box
    games.

    equivalent, The Legend of Grimrock, then you would have a good idea of
    what to expect from Eye of the Beholder. It is that kind of game. It
    is a Dungeon Crawler. It heavily emphasizes combat, mapping out
    dungeons, and solving pressure plate \ lever type puzzles.

    Probably one of the reasons why I only occasionally play a JRPG (the
    last one I played I think was Persona 5, but I stopped roughtly 10 hours
    into the game). The fighting grind of JRPGs usually after a while
    becomes unbearable. I had the same issue with the EOB games.
    But nevertheless free is free.

    I like Eye of the Beholder, the Gold Box games, Ultima, and if Final
    Fantasy VII is anything to go by, I would like JRPGs as well. I guess
    I like most CRPG types.
