  • Do you, or can you, "own" a software license?

    I'm reading through a doc from an IT department that keeps using phrases similar to "software for which we own a license."

    I think you may be conferred a license, granted a license, issued a license .
    . . maybe even have a license (I'nn not a fan of that one) . . . but you
    don't own a license.
