If we represent a permutation of the integers 1...n as list L (or
word) say w=2431 then L=[2,4,3,1]. Is there a built-in command to find
the inverse of the permutation as a list. w^{-1}= 4132 or L=[4,1,3,2]
i.e. find the position in the list where j appears?
Thanks,

can I find an algorithm in maple to find the set of involution defined by I (n): = {L in S_n such that L ^ (- 1) = L} ie for example I (2) = {L in S_2 / L ^ (- 1) = L} = {{1,2}, {2,1}}.
thanks,
Marwa abdelamksoud.
