Hi all,
I have been using pgp 10 (the old free version) for only encrypting single files (as *.exe for easy portability) and shredding. Wonderful tool.
Today microshit tells me that pgp is not compatible with its crap update and will remove it. I managed to delay the update but I am in deep trouble.
I could still use pgp within a virtual machine at least to encrypt files, but it is quite a nuisance, the overhead is heavy, I encrypt quite a few files per day. But at least shredding would be a problem.
Please suggest me what I can do: a reliable shredder (possibly free) would be wellcome. If it was also able to encrypt like pgp (*.exe) even better
Thanks in advance to whomever will reply
Stop using Microsoft's shitware operating systems? You DO NOT control
your own PC as the evidence clearly shows. MS will allow you to have
the software that IT deems ACCEPTABLE.
Honestly, I'm surprised when ANYONE bothers to mix cryptography and
Windows. You don't have any idea what your OS is doing in the
background. Nobody else does either because all of the source code for
windows is kept hidden away from you plebs.
For all you know, Windows might keep an unencrypted copy of your files
in the swap space or maybe it uploads it to the cloud. Maybe it does
nothing with it. Maybe the RNG (random number generator) is shit..
Nobody can check because the code is secret.
If you really care about your security, stop using Windows.
