5.0.1 mostly has installer fixes, better at figuring out your hardware.
I doubt that there is ever going to be a version that installs on 500MB,
it was hard enough convincing them to lower it to the current level. As
for a CDR version, it's not that hard to remove various stuff that you
don't need, but does mean creating a new ISO and being familiar with the
DVD's organization.
As for the newer packages, my guess is that the kernel is only licensed
for ArcaOS. For ACPI, you should be able to reinstall the older WPI or
restore from backup
