    (spoiler):

    Overall

I love Nintendo's legendary catalogue of games, but for me the
Steam Deck offers a better bang for my buck. There's a wider
overall selection of titles on Steam and almost every developer
puts their games on PC right away. It also offers a cheaper entry
price and more model variations to choose from. While I do value
the sleek more portable size of the Switch 2, the discounts on
Steam games are hard for me to ignore compared to Nintendo's much
    more rigid pricing.

Personally, I'm finding there is far more to do with a Steam Deck.

What’s missing from this comparison? Remember, the Steam Deck is
primarily being used to run Windows-based games. So why aren’t any
actual Windows-based handhelds being included in this comparison?

Because they aren’t worth including. The Steam Deck dominates the
handheld Windows gaming market -- without even running Microsoft
Windows. Its versatility comes from the fact that it runs Linux. This
also allows it to run other sorts of games besides those developed
exclusively for Windows -- which is just the icing on the cake.

    Here <https://www.zdnet.com/home-and-office/home-entertainment/this-msi-handheld-could-replace-my-gaming-laptop-and-not-just-for-its-more-portable-design/>
is yet another example of why. Quote:

Video games may be fine, but Windows 11 is another story. It seems
the OS wasn't meant to be condensed to fit onto a gaming handheld
because I ran into bugs. One time, after updating the software,
the in-game controls were disabled. I couldn't move my characters,
only the cursor. Fortunately, a quick reboot solved the problem.
Further optimization with Windows will hopefully improve the
    experience.

Hope springs eternal, doesn’t it, that Microsoft will eventually fix
all the problems with Windows 11, instead of making them worse.
