• The Supreme Awkwardness of M$ Versus GNU/linux

From Lester Thorpe@21:1/5 to All on Thu Jul 10 19:40:35 2025
I am a true crime fan and my latest interest is the Brian Kohberger
    murders.

Gray Hughes has produced a number of videos examining various
    aspects of the BK murders:

    <https://www.youtube.com/@GrayHughesInvestigates/videos>

Unfortunately, his videos are far from ideal because of one
    thing: he's using Micro$lop Winblows.

As I view his work, I notice that he must awkwardly invoke other
windows and continually use the mouse and menus to invoke basic
commands. The software too is quite awkward in that it does permit
    simple execution paths.

On GNU/Linux, the videos would be much more smooth and efficient.
The use of virtual desktops and keyboard commands would allow seamless transitions and a much more efficient and pleasing presentation.

At least this would be true on my systems.

But since most GNU/Linux users are chained to GNOME or KDE perhaps
the results with these would be just as clunky.

Feel free to intelligently and competently respond.

    If you can.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha!

And you are using LinSux. How old are you? 14? People can't use what they WANT to use?

Yeah man. Awkward software because it does permit simple execution paths. And when did using a mouse become awkward?

Windows has both virtual desktops and keyboard commands. Maybe he does not know about them. Maybe he DOES know but does not care to use them.

Once again, you prove you are a clueless dweeb.

Windows (and Apple) only acquired virtual desktops comparatively recently,
this century. *nix systems pioneered the concept decades ago.

Yeah, but it took Microsoft long enough to get virtual desktops more or
    less right.

    Awkward software, yeah!

It is obvious that the software he uses is, like most M$ junk, based
in the Multiple Document Interface design:

    <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Multiple-document_interface>

He does a screen grab and the controls and menus cannot be excluded
and create a big, distracting mess.

With GNU/Linux this would not happen because all the excellent software
is SDI with completely independent windows.

The VDs on M$ are pure junk compared to the VDs on GNU/Linux.

With M$, the VDs can only be arranged in a linear fashion and this
    introduces more awkwardness.

With GNU/Linux, VDs, depending on the WM, can be arraged in a much
more natural grid pattern. Furthermore, switching VDs is much faster
    with GNU/Linux.

Anyone who wants to do screen cap videos should only be using GNU/Linux
or else the results will be garbage.

    The case is closed.
