Define current. The kernel version is relevant.

PS: Be aware that most laptops are restricted to only a few models due
to stupid FCC testing rules. Other cards are locked out sometimes.

Possibly a USB interface would be an acceptable work-around: <URL:https://man.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=rtwn_usb&apropos=0&sektion=0&manpath=FreeBSD+14.1-RELEASE+and+Ports&arch=default&format=html>

I wouldn't know about status of xBSD drivers

    and current Debaian/Ubuntu/Kali linux support:

It was a long time ago (about 20 years) that I had to compile my own
kernel for fedora to get working intel wifi drivers, the drivers and corresponding firmware blobs have been in mainstream distros for a
    *long* time now.

Pretty sure intel work to get their drivers in the development kernels
before products are released; in short if you can buy the hardware, and install a recent kernel, you'll be fine ...
