No iphone or android for me, just got me a Graphene OS phone...

I hope that it does what you want. I admire the GrapheneOS devs for
their efforts in degoogling Android. However, I have some concerns that
the *only* phone that Graphene recommends (or actually works with) is a Google Pixel. Can they ensure that none of the Google hardware can call
home to Google? Of course, they can't ensure that your mobile phone
provider can't monitor your calls, or indeed your data if it isn't
encrypted. Even a Pinephone can't do that.

How about a german Volla Phone with Ubuntu Touch and a NymVPN subsription, with all cool anonymity apps from GitHub compiled/installed?

I hadn't heard of that. Looks a possibility, if a bit pricey.
Interesting to see the continued use of Ubuntu Touch if wanted. Is the VollaOS that much different from GrapheneOS?

With the sunsetting of 2G/3G networks, lack of VoLTE (presumably also
lack of VoWIFI) would be a concern ...

Thanks for the tip! What would you then recommend for Ubuntu Touch,
which I like to use as OS, and what is affordable?

Nevermind, I will use the smartphone only for mobile Intenet usage
and not telephony, so I should be all set, I guess, or not?

Do Xiaomi make an Ubuntu Touch tablet? Looks like two or three on the supported devices page ...
