Most people don't think.
Most people do think.
That goes double for the people on Usenet, especially technical groups.
I do.
Such bluster is unbecoming.
We both go way back on Usenet, micky... So I know you. And you know me.
Really? I've only seen you here for a couple months. What was your
previous name?
We're complete opposites.
Nothing about you is like me.
We're so different as to be considered completely different species.
I'm human. What are you? What is the opposite of human?
An example is how many tutorials have you written, Micky?
Point being is never in your life have you helped anyone but yourself.
You conclude that from a zero number of tutorials. How ridiculous.
Another example is how much political garbage do you post to a.h.r, Micky? >Point being every post from you, micky, adds negative value to the group.
AHR is another group. I don't like it but at a time when there were few
home repair posts, we were invaded by political spammers, and I
responded to some of them, for a time, until I decided the spammers were hopeless. I only find posts from you starting the middle of march and I
have not read any of them. It's possible to hold a middle-position or to
try to moderate between two other sides, but that doesn't seem like you.
So if your views in those threads were different from mine, you were
probably wrong. ;-) If they were the opposite of mine, you were
surely wrong. :>)
I have at least 3 friends whose views on politics are the opposite or
nearly so on the major issue of politics these days, and I don't
belittle them and they don't belittle me. You could learn from us.
But I'm not only completely different from you, micky.
But I'm one in a million in many other ways when it comes to thinking.
What's different between me and everyone else on this newsgroup, Micky, >including almost everyone on almost every computer-based newsgroup that I >also frequent, is that I "do something" that none of them thought to do.
Again, you think you know all about what I do from what I post on
usenet. How ridiculous. There is a lot more to life than Usenet.
First, I worked with Ivo before creating these hotlinks for all to use.
<https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-comp-freeware> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-comp-os-windows-10> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-comp-os-windows-11> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-comp-software-firefox> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-comp-software-tb> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-comp-software-thunde> (30-character limit) <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-free-newsservers> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-home-repair> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-alt-usage-english> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-comp-mobile-android> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-misc-phone-mobile-iphone> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-news-admin-net-abuse-usenet> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-news-admin-peering> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-news-software-readers> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-rec-autos-tech> <https://tinyurl.com/nova-uk-telecom-mobile>
etc.
Ivo did all the hard work but I created the tiny urls to make his links >easier to everyone to use without needing to even have to think about it.
That's because.... I think.
You're mixing up the means you used with the purpose. The means you
used was thinking. "Because" refers to purpose.
It's not because you think You did it because you wanted the
convenience of these links and you wanted to be able to brag about them
here.
They do not.
This is the part that makes you look bad. Are you the one who under
another name was always saying how you did things for other people.
Marion doesn't say that, but there is a similarity here, so maybe you
are the same person.
To say that once would be reasonable. People are entitled to brag once
in a while, but that guy would put in almost every thread and I felt a
little sorry that he needed those self-aggrandizing remarks.
But I didn't say anything because bragging is not so bad, and even when
there is an implied contrast with other people -- I forget how you said
it but you implied, or maybe you were explicit, that other people did
not do things for other people -- I figured it wouldn't help so I said
nothing. Of course everyone reading knows that that view, that other
people are not helpful, is only your mistaken opinion. Part of the goal
of everyone who answers questions here is to help other people. How can
you not realize that?
If you're the same person who posted those things, and yet when you
changed to Marion, you stopped, that's encouraging.
But when you make a flat out statement, that other people do not think,
that is just so silly, I thought it worth posting in rebuttal.
That's why these URLs work, Micky.
I don't care if the urls work or not. And didn't someone post that he
tried it for another ng and it did not work?
It's not because of them.
You think 100 people should all write the same urls?
Hence your claim that anyone who "does something"... is mere bluster...
I didn't say that. Not even close. If you were thinking you'd know that
what you just wrote and what I said are not even close to the same. Read
the top of this post where I restored what you had snipped, so readers
would not know what I actually said, or read my prior post, and you'll
see what I said. Saying that you think and others do not is bluster, and
it's unbecoming. No one believes you. On Usenet that doesn't matter
so much but if you are like this in the rest of your life, it could be a
real problem.
means that you're squarely in the category of people who do not think.
I did not say that, but even if I had, your conclusion does not follow.
Even people who think make errors once in a while. You do too, and two
examples are that you just misquoted me AND that you don't know how bad
you look when you claim that others don't think, or that they don't do
things for other people.
Please think about that clear & rational observation before responding.
Do you think someone you believe doesn't think can actually do that?
OTOH, we know that you think, so you can please think about my clear &
rational observation before responding.
It is unbecoming for you to insult the rest of the world by saying they
do not think. Even if you were right, unless there were some need to say
it, it would be tasteless, but since you're so, so wrong, it's very
unbecoming.
