• AdAway adblocker

    From sobriquet@21:1/5 to All on Tue Sep 17 04:18:28 2024
    Hi.
    For a while I've been using the AdAway adblocker to stop ads in an app.
    It used to work fine for something like a year or longer but lately,
    suddenly the ads are back, despite having AdAway running.

    I don't mind banner ads, but I really hate it when they force you to
    watch an ad before you're allowed to proceed using the app.

    Does anyone know how to fix this?

    Kind regards and thanks in advance for any feedback on this issue.

    Unfortunately, much as I'd like to help, I don't know anything about AdAway other than links to the software and forums to ask detailed questions of.

    <https://f-droid.org/en/packages/org.adaway/>

    So I'll let others respond to the AdAway portion of the issue, but may I
    ask if you're using an ad-blocking DNS &/or system-wide ad blockers?

    System Wide Ad Blocking

    The main reason I ask is I haven't seen an ad on my Android phone in, oh, I don't know how long - but it could be years and I use it daily on the net.
