As Skip pointed out, in C and most of its derivatives "C" is a string and 'C' is a character.
that reminds me... that ... i like how in Scheme, a string is a sequence of characters, but using them makes for verbose programming.
i can't quite understand if Python's definition of the string 'ab' as being made up of two strings ( 'a' and 'b') is theoretically clean (canonical).... it surely makes many programs short.
