There was also one for integers but not as well-known or developed:

FD 15/3 INTRAN - An Integer Formula Translator - Noble J.

Whether automated conversion is warranted is debatable. One can see how
it might appeal to those unfamiliar with forth. JVN was preaching to
    fellow scientists after all.

The JVN article is from 2004
The code originally used by me is from 1986 for TURBO-Forth MS-DOS 3.x
I have a gForth adapted version here: https://github.com/MPETREMANN11/gFORTH/blob/master/infix.txt
My code has the advantage of being quite short and understandable.
I just adapted it for ESP32Forth, because it can help developers to handle quite long arithmetic and logic formulas. Yes, you can mix arithmetic and logical operators. A very good example here:
    https://esp32.arduino-forth.com/article/tools_infixToPostfix#progLin
Final result with no if..else..then: https://esp32.arduino-forth.com/articles/images/tools/infixToPostfix/infixGraph.png
