• Wondering what is being discussed here

From David LaRue@21:1/5 to All on Mon Mar 4 19:00:07 2024
Each day my newsreader says that there are articles here, but all are
removed because they are posted by persons that I've killfiled in the past.
My newsreader doesn't allow me to turn off the bans easily.

Could someone here answer this and let me know if anything serious is being discussed?

    Thank you,

    David

Only active thread here (besides yours) is titled: White House to
Developers: Using C or C++ Invites Cybersecurity Risks

and is discussing this article: https://www.pcmag.com/news/white-house-to-developers-using-c-plus-plus- invites-cybersecurity-risks

    Nothing particularly interesting.

It‘s not too relevant, I‘d say that you’ll probably not miss much. It’s eerily quiet here, very little to discuss. Kinda sad.

If you work with microcontrollers like arduino or ESP32 there will be some posts in the future, because the are programmed in C++ often.

I read here since many years every second or third week and have never
banned somebody. I read all comments, if someone is of my opinion or not.
We in Germany now have the problem as in 1932 or with the IS. We do not
have opinions any more, we have THE opinion and yours is the wrong one.

    Regards
    Ralf

Lynn McGuire has posted a couple of recent articles
1 a link to Herb Sutter's report on a standards meeting

There's an ongoing thread on Sieve of Erastosthenes and a separate
    thread on an alternative approach

and a thread on a proposal for spin-wait loops started by Bonita
    Montero
