Of course, sometimes what you need is most especially the image(s).
But news & opinion sites seem to think it's neccessary to have a
pic, often as not some random stock photo with every item. That's
*before* the matter of ads. Makes a substantial difference on a
slow connection.
lynx / elinks / w3m are your friends. Use them. All can be
configured to download and display images upon user request.
Haven't looked at lynx for over a decade. Hmmmmm.... Huh. Cranky.
Have to do something about the hor'ble colors.
This is what I did:
$ grep -E -- ^show_color < .lynxrc
show_color=never
$
Well, maybe, for some purposes.
