  • Gopher RSS Feed reader - Are there any?

    Greetings all,

    Does anyone know of any RSS readers with gopher support? I've seen a few
    rss feeds for gopher plogs but don't now of any actual readers that
    would support the gopher protocol or gopher urls. Never mind actually
    accessing the RSS feed direct from the gopherhole (I've yet to find a
    supported reader) and not via some HTTP endpoint. I've done some basic searching, but still working to dig deep to see what I can find but
    thought I would reach out to see if anyone know of anything that might
    save me time on finding supported reader. For context I'm a linux user
    so any solutions should either be able to be complied or have a .deb
    package available.

    Now that I'm off work I was able to search much deeper and as luck would
    have it my news reader of choice supports getting gopher feeds in a
    round about way. I stumbled across this nugget in my searches and will
    be trying it tonight.

    Basically it allows newsboat (my reader client of choice) to utilize
    curl to pull down a feed stored on gopher protocol.

    I'm still open to any other suggestions that others may have or find
    while I try this out for myself.

    As a last resort if that doesn't work, this Web to Gopher proxy
    would probably work if you save the "raw file" link from there in
    your RSS reader:

    It appears that newsboat (https://newsboat.org/index.html ) can be configured to read a wide variety of protocols, including gopher:
