I must say that gimp 2.10.10 on Mageia 7.1 seems to be a mess.
a)I cannot reduce the window size. It fills the whole screen vertically,
and I cannot, it seems, reduce the vertical siz nor can I see the bottom
of the gimp window, so stuff may be hidden by the title bar at the
bottom of my screen.
b) as I said the foreground/background colour selector has disappeard.
It used to be a part of the Tools dialog, but since that is now
plastered linearly along the side of the Image window, it seems to have dispapeared.
c) instead of separate windows for the tools they are all not plastered
along the edge meaning you cannot put them where it is convenient to
you.
I managed to do something in Preferences which split the workspace
window from the tools window-- I have no idea what it was I did to
accomplish that. Then if I widened the toolbox, it displayed in 2
columns rathr than one (which presumably extended way way beyond the
bottom of the screen and was what was preventing the bottom of the
toolbox from showing and preventing me from reducing the vertical size
of the window) Now the colour selector/Foreground/background selector to
show up again. Whoever made the toolbox default single column needed
some reeducation. And whoever made joining the tools window to the image
window the default also needs the same reeducation.
