The third generation (3G) of wireless mobile telecommunications
technology has shut down in the US with the last telecommunication
provider Verizon winding the network on its customers' devices on
    December 31, 2022. AT&T turned off its 3G service in February 2022,
while T-Mobile started shutting down old networks in March 2022. Verizon

A friend of mine using an old 3G phone with T-Mobile reports that
despite repeated text alerts that they are shutting the GSM 3G network
down this past June, the T-Mo 3G towers near him in Milwaukee are
still live. He said he'll replace the phone when there is no service
    left, heh.
