  • db2setup crashed in libdb2ure.so for v11.1

    I am trying to install "IBM DB2 Advanced Workgroup Server Edition Server Restricted Use V11.1 for Linux on AMD64 and Intel EM64T systems (x64)" on Ubuntu 16.04.
    I launched db2setup but it returned in few seconds.
    I noticed /tmp/db2setup.err is reporting crash with following backtrace:

    Additionally DB2 v11.1 for Linux depends on rpm, but the present
    db2prereqcheck does not check this explicitly, so if rpm is not
    installed on your Ubuntu you will need to install rpm first. </q>

    What you have just said is that DB2 should be installed on a Red Hat
    compatible Linux (CentOS, Oracle Linux, Red Hat EL). I agree. I installed
    DB2 11.1 on Oracle Linux 7.4 and haven't had any problems whatsoever.
