SNIP
1 returns 0.01
50/09ol0 returns 500.90
12345678 returns 123,456.78
We're deep into the area of personal preferences. My preference is to
not ignore obvious errors, such as 50/09ol0 being interpreted as 500.90.
I understand that, but filemaker doesn't have a built in 'don't ignore
obvious errors' function. You have to built that yourself. 50/09ol0 in
your eyes has an obvious error which the user needs to be aware of. In
my eyes it might be just a slip on the keyboard. But it is not so
difficult to add a function returning a 1 (true) when an error has been
made. Then color the input field red when an 'obvious error' (defined by
your expectations) has been made.
Etc.
