I'd guess everyone has migrated to place like Reddit at this point.

Hello.
I used to really love this series, and should watch it again. Very
happy that the group is active. I am subscribing.
One of the Australian Free-to-Air channels was re-broadcasting X-Files
last year. Five nights a week, I think it was. Yum.
Strangely, it was on what most most would consider as a multi-lingual channel. Why?? Well, I suppose it was U.S. English!!

first time I watch it in the original English. During the original run
I was living in Italy, where everything on television is dubbed -- in
fact very badly.
Now I can certainly follow the series in English. If my memory were
fresh I would appreciate the difference in characterisation, and maybe
be even disturbed by that at the beginning. I find that in Italian male
voice actor in particular always make an effort to sound virile and
dramatic, even where the original is different. The Italian voice for
Hugh Laurie in House is a striking example.

As I typed, above, one of the Australian Free-to-Air channels replayed X-Files
last year, even getting up to the cast change where Mulder left and was replaced
by (someone!!)

Do you think that the series is still appealing to younger generations?
I wonder if the typical entertainment language has already changed too
much.
The two replacements for Mulder and Scully were played by competent
actors but could never had the same chemistry. It could not work, and everybody knew it. I curious to see if I would be more or less
forgiving now.

I'd thought Google shut down groups, sending atxf into the void. I
guess not, happy to see.
Google might have closed down Google Groups (but I don't think so) but Google doesn't own UseNet ..... yet, so Google can't close it down!!

Usenet keeps rolling along :)
Perhaps in time new people may discover it and use it for the text conversations that it offers..
