Trumps approval rating hits record low of second term: Poll
by Sarah Fortinsky - 08/28/25 4:12 PM ET

President Trumps approval rating dropped to a new low for his second term
in the latest Quinnipiac University poll.

In the five-day survey, which concluded Monday, 37 percent of registered
voters say they approve of the presidents handling of his job, compared to
55 percent who disapprove. Another 7 percent say they dont know.

The presidents net negative 18-point approval rating is his lowest
recorded since January 2021. It also marks a net 4-point decline since the
July survey, when his approval was 14 points underwater, with 40 percent approval and 54 percent disapproval.

The August poll shows a 21-point shift since Trump took office in January,
when 46 percent approved of the president and 43 percent disapproved.

The latest survey recorded both Trumps lowest approval of his second term
    and his highest disapproval.

Trumps previous low approval came in early June, when 38 percent approved
of him and 54 percent disapproved. Trumps approval rating ticked up to 41 percent in late June and 40 percent in July, while his disapproval rating remained stable at 54 percent in both recent polls.

In the latest poll, 84 percent of Republicans approve of the way Trump is handling his job, while 9 percent disapprove and 7 percent say they dont
    know or skip the question.
