Although US President Donald Trump described his meeting
with his Russian counterpart as "productive," he noted that
they could not agree on a few points.
. . .
Vlad has a Mission From Gawd to at least re-estab
the entire old USSR and probably more.
That's hard to deal with, kinda like coping with
other Holy Warriors like Hamas and ISIS and such.
We can't go bomb Russia without pretty literally
ending the world.
So, Trump is going to have to take away more and
more of Vlad's money and supply more help for
Ukrainian/EU resistors. Expect him to proceed in
that direction quickly and then wait for the
next big summit - maybe weeks if Putin sees
Trump is serious.
The meet seemed to go pretty well. Putin, though
an asshole, was still given proper decorum, even
got a short ride in The Beast. Putin got to look
good, Trump got to look good. That's how it's done.
DID like the theatrical touch of the low B-2 flyover
just as the two met on the field. Putin does respect
strength and force and, worst case, the USA does have
it. We can't bomb them but they can't bomb us either.
Amazingly short after-meeting speech, doubt Trump
talked for three minutes. We're used to hour-long
all-topic stuff from him.
Suspected, both now more clearly understand what
the other WANTS. Nobody expected a peace deal
and bottle of bubbly after. This is going to
take awhile. Meanwhile gotta proceed with
taking Vlad's money away - crank up the pain,
no delays. India and China - DO apply the
Russian petroleum sanctions NOW. Delay looks
like "weakness".
The GOP congress, indeed Trump, did NOT want to
spend more money and effort on Ukraine - but
sometimes the world just doesn't work the way
we'd like. GOP *voters* now seem to realize that
Putin is an asshole and snake - and that may
help convince their reps.
Oh, note that Vlad did not seem "debilitated"
despite all the hopeful rumors.
Putin is a dictator, but even HE needs to please
the big business "oligarchs" in Russia and THEY
are not happy with all the spending on war. In
the Machiavellian angle it's the oligarchs who
are ultimately In Charge - hey, MONEY !
Ah - AF-1 just lifted off from Alaska ...
We'll get the long long speech tomorrow. Trump
also, properly, said he'd have to consult with
Ukraine, NATO and the EU about the details.
Hmmm ... we need posters ... a pic of Vlad
smirking with a "THIS MAN WANTS YOU TO VOTE
DEMOCRAT/SOCIALIST" caption :-)
