Nancy Mace admits she loves watching

Rep. Nancy Mace admitted that one
of her “favorite” things to watch
on YouTube is videos of Immigration
and Customs Enforcement agents
dragging people from court and
detaining them for deportation.
The South Carolina congresswoman
shared the revelation as she railed
against sanctuary cities on Fox News,
as she hailed the administration’s
aggressive anti-immigration tactics.
“I have to tell you, one of my
favorite things to watch on YouTube
these days are the court hearings
where illegals are in court and ICE
shows up to drag them out of court
and deport them,” Mace said Sunday
on Fox Report with Jon Scott. https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/americas/us-politics/nancy-mace-ice-deportations-youtube-b2797372.html

The research, led by psychologist Craig Neumann
of the University of North Texas, examined
whether certain personality traits—those
associated with callousness, manipulation, and
even enjoyment of others’ suffering—correlate
with conservative ideology and support for
Trump. The findings are striking: people who
view Trump favorably are more likely to score
higher on measures of malevolent traits and
lower on empathy and compassion.

conservative political ideology in the Trump era
Conservative political ideology is associated
with social dominance orientation (SDO),
right-wing authoritarianism (RWA), psychopathic
propensities (PPs), and other malevolent
dispositions, and reduced empathy. We examined
the links between SDO, RWA, PPs and political
ideology, and whether those who view Trump
favorably reported higher PPs (or malevolent
traits) and reduced empathy or benevolent
dispositions. Two U.S. community samples were
used; Sample 1 was white vs. minority status
men (N = 1000, 32 % minority) and Sample 2
contained men and women (N = 8,047; 45 % male).
Structural equation modeling was utilized to
represent ideology in terms of right- vs.
left-leaning orientation on social and economic
issues, including participants’ views of Trump.
Malevolent (+) and benevolent (−) dispositions
and empathy disturbances were significantly
linked with conservative ideology.
