  • Medicaid - Major Cuts Too Politically, and Morally, Dangerous

    LOTS of angst over "Medicaid".

    It IS often horribly abused, a major drag on
    the US budget.

    On the flip, it HAS ITS PLACE.

    Lots of Joe Regular VOTES hang on it.

    The ultimate fix is to investigate and dump
    the ABUSE. This will NOT be easy however,
    neither in practical accounting terms or
    political terms.

    Medicaid is sort of a low-rent "socialized
    medicine" aimed mostly at those with very
    low incomes. This is not inherently evil
    no matter what some total assholes claim.

    But the ABUSES ... huge huge money. Something
    HAS to be done about that or the entire idea
    is in question.
