When the TP is turned off, it doesn't know what kind of OS is installed.
When the power button is 'activated', the TP STILL doesn't know if any
OS or no OS or its original OEM OS or a subsequent OS has been
installed. The first thing that happens is that what we call the BIOS,
now typically UEFI, awakens and starts to pretend to be a little OS and
surveys the hardware and its pre-established configuration.
I have a TP. When I press its power button, a power light comes on and
the UEFI offers to let me see the setup or alternatively press an F key
to select a device to find a boot sector.
Are you saying your TP's power light doesn't come on?
