Just checked. "Recently Closed Tabs/Windows" both grayed out.
But, yes, history will be quite helpful.
Firefox often prompts to restore tabs after abnormal shutdown but NOT
this time.

Won't help you now but consider using Tab Session Manager extension. It
auto saves your tabs every x-minutes just in case FF doesn't come back
with open tabs where you left off (if/when it crashes).

Maybe I'm paranoid but 'read and modify browsing history' doesn't give me
a warm feeling.
