I became suspicious something was wrong when I could not find a win11

If I searched for a group containing windows-11 none was found, yet if
I put in the full name alt.comp.os.windows-11
    there it was

What has gone wrong with Thunderbird ?

When I first searched for no-quote 'windows-11', it didn't come up, but
that turned out to be because my list needed to be refreshed.  After refreshing the list, Tb found windows-11 ok in alt.comp.os.windows-11.

I did refresh it but it did not show.
That said, after I subscribed to it, it did show after I refreshed.

    Thanks for the reply

    I did refresh

Anyway, if I have another such problem I can use the link you provided

on the Thunderbird group I was asked which news server I was using.

Seems like the problem is with Eternal September and and not even a
    Thunderbird problem.

    Thanks all !

Thank you, I will ask there.

It did not show up after a refresh, but it did once I entered the name
    exactly

Did you include asterisk at the beginning and at the end of the search string?

No, that has never been necessary.

Anyway, it seems it's on Eternal September's end. It did not happen
    using another news server
