    What if Ruby anonymously telephoned the authorities warning them that O. was in danger?

    When R. locked his dog in his car, what if he was hoping against hope that when he turned up at the police station, there would be enough security that would prevent him from getting close to O. thereby give him an excuse for not being able to carry out
    the shooting that he was ordered to do?

    What if Ruby knew he was going to shoot Oswald and just left his dog in the car to make it look as though he wasn't going to shoot Oswald? What if Ruby sneaked in with the television camera crew and said he just walked down the ramp? What if Oswald was
    shot at 11:24 and everybody told us that he was shot at 11:21? Would Ruby then have had enough time to sneak in with the camera crew? What if this was all a ruling class conspiracy and the rest of us are chumps? What if democracy is a farce and we are

    Which means he didn't recognize the voice as Ruby's. He only convinced himself of that after
    the fact. This would have been compelling had he told somebody before the shooting that Ruby
    had threatened to kill Oswald.
