Commission finding.--There is no evidence that Marina Oswald ever told
this to any authorities. On the afternoon of November 22, she told the police that her husband owned a rifle and that he kept it in the
garage of the Paine house in Irving.
Well known part of the assassination story. The cops showed up asking if Oswald owned a firearm and Ruth Paine helped translate for Marina and she pointed the cops to the blanket in the Paine garage where she knew the rifle was stored. As we all know,
when the blanket was lifted, it was limp. No rifle.
Later, at Dallas police
headquarters, she said that she could not identify as her husband's
the rifle shown her by policemen.
Makes sense, as she probably paid little attention to the actual make or model of the rifle and couldn't verify it as her husband's rifle by sight. She simply knew he had a rifle. I own firearms and I promise my wife wouldn't be able to "identify" the
weapons I own as being *my* weapons per se. She doesn't clean them or fire them or have any interest in them.
When Marina Oswald appeared before
the Commission she was shown the Mannlicher-Carcano 6.5 rifle found on
the sixth floor of the Depository and identified it as the "fateful
rifle of Lee Oswald."
She's simply granting the point and speaking aloud of the "fateful" rifle as a given, since it had by then been established as being a ballistic match to the assassination.
But unfortunately for the WCR's claim that there is no evidence for
Marina ever denying that Oswald owned a rifle, you can find it in her testimony:
Mr. RANKIN. Did you ever see him clean the rifle?
Mrs. OSWALD. Yes.
So she saw him clean it.
I said before I had never seen it before. But I
think you understand. I want to help you, and that is why there is no
reason for concealing anything. I will not be charged with anything.

She's relaying that prior to him brandishing it around and cleaning it (and her famously taking the BY photos of him posing with it and the pistol) she hadn't seen it before; it was a new "toy" in the household. We're all aware when he ordered it and
when it was shipped to his Hidell PO Box.
Whether she was originally lying, or started lying later - matters
little. The *fact* is that there is certainly evidence that Marina originally *was* asserting that Oswald didn't have a rifle.
Wrong. She told the cops via Ruth Paine that it was in the garage in a blanket, and the cops were taken to the garage. I'm surprised you are unaware of this.
Once again, the WCR simply lied.
Once again, your hobby points are smashed into little pieces. Go pick them up and put them together again and wait a few weeks or months and post them again.
Watch carefully, and note that neither Corbutt nor Huckster Sienzant
will respond. Both are cowards. (As they demonstrate.)
Will the real JFK Truthers who can make arguments step up? Ben needs help.
