    Really? I don't recall a motive for her trying to enter being
    given. Ashli was the only one who could actually give a motive, and
    she died.

    Calling him a hero may be a bit much. He was doing his job. And
    doing it correctly and within the laws and regulations that applied.
    *IF* Ashli was looking to harm/kill anyone, the status of hero
    could be applied. But I've not seen anything that would serve as
    evidence that was her intention.

    It was ruled a justified, legal, shooting. You can disagree with
    the finding, and your post makes it clear you do, but there isn't much
    you can do. You can, of course, lobby to have laws, rules and/or
    regulations changed to make any such shootings in the future illegal.
    I don't think you'll enjoy any success, but the only way to ensure you
    fail is to do nothing.
