A new U.S. Senate report confirms the Biden White House covered up
potential harms from the COVID-19 vaccine - and is further evidence of
how fundamentally dishonest the administration was about pandemic policy
more generally.
The 54-page interim report from Senator Ron Johnson (R-WI), the chairman
of the Permanent Subcommittee on Investigations, specifically found that
top Biden officials, including in the Food and Drug Administration
(FDA), knew the COVID vaccine could cause significant heart problems
like myocarditis and pericarditis, particularly in young men. However,
public health officials failed to disclose this information and pushed
vaccine mandates anyway.
Records reveal that "in the first half of 2021, federal health officials
had ample evidence of myocarditis and related heart inflammation
conditions occurring in young adults who received mRNA COVID-19
vaccines," Johnson's office said in a press release accompanying the
report. However, some public records were heavily redacted which
"prevented a full understanding of what federal health officials knew
and what actions they took."
As the report alleges, soon after the full public rollout of the vaccine
in February 2021, health officials were warned by Israeli doctors about potential negative health effects, particularly inflammation of the
heart. Data from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS) in
the United States added to these concerns.
In spite of these alarm bells, "U.S. health officials delayed for months alerting the public, and ultimately rejected a formal notification to
health care providers about the risks to young people of myocarditis and associated heart inflammation conditions following receipt of an mRNA
COVID-19 vaccine."
The revelations were brought further into the open during a hearing held
by Johnson ahead of the report's release. Many leading medical experts
who were shunned by their peers and ridiculed in the media were finally vindicated and given a full hearing.
That list included Dr. Peter McCullough, a heavily published
cardiologist who testified that he is "deeply concerned about a much
larger subclinical myopericarditis problem manifested by chest pain, palpitations, blood pressure instability, and heart rhythm problems
which persist for months to years after the shots."
McCullough criticized medical groups for their complicity and said they
"should have held emergency meetings and called for a halt in mass vaccination."
Johnson's report also suggests that government officials knew the
vaccine was far riskier for pregnant women than drug companies were
letting on - something that Dr. Sara Brenner, the FDA principal deputy commissioner who worked on COVID policy, appeared to confirm earlier
this month.
During a MAHA Institute roundtable on May 15, Brenner stated that even
as the government was selling the vaccine as "safe and effective" for
pregnant women, she herself chose to not take it while pregnant.
"Knowing what I knew - not only about nanotechnology, about medicine,
about the medical countermeasures - but also having a very strong and
firm grounding in bioethics... there were many things that were not
right," she said.
Once again, it appears the "conspiracy theorists" were right when it
comes to the COVID-19 vaccine. Even as the Biden administration
discharged military personnel for refusing the vaccine and lectured
Americans about a "winter of severe illness and death," government
scientists had every reason to believe the vaccine carried serious
health risks.
Now that President Donald Trump is in office, however, the truth is
beginning to come out, and public health policy is changing accordingly.
Recently, the FDA announced that it had ordered Pfizer and Moderna to
warn about the dangers of their shots for young men ages 16 to 25.
"While the earlier labels specified ages 18 to 24 years old for
Moderna's vaccine and 12 to 17 years old for Pfizer's, the new warning
will apply to males ages 16 to 25 for both vaccines," CBS News reported.
Secretary of Health and Human Services Robert F. Kennedy Jr. also
recently announced that his agency is no longer recommending that
healthy pregnant women or children take the COVID shot, calling it
"common sense" and "good science."
"There's no evidence healthy kids need it today," FDA Commissioner Marty
Makary said in the announcement. Parents largely realized this, as just
15 percent had taken their kids to get the latest COVID booster shot. Of course, anyone who wants the vaccine is still free to get it.
But the Trump administration has made clear its commitment to health
freedom. Employers and schools will no longer be able to justify vaccine mandates on the grounds that the federal government recommends the
shots.
Maximizing transparency and taking the first steps toward accountability
are long overdue but welcome developments for a public health
establishment that squandered its credibility during one of the greatest
crises of our time. COVID-19 should have been a moment for public health leaders to unite the country around science and truth. Instead, they
chose to prioritize personal partisan interests and corporate profits.
The American people deserve a public health system they can trust - not
one that hides risks, silences dissent, and punishes skepticism.
Rebuilding that trust will take time, but it starts with honesty. Trump
has made clear that the days of branding legitimate questions as "misinformation" are over.
The public is not a problem to be managed, it is a partner to be
informed. If public health is to be preserved, it must first be
redeemed. And that redemption begins with truth, transparency, and the
courage to admit what went wrong.
