Wow, if true, they will be the first mercenary group to have their own
nuclear arsenal. Maybe they'll use them against Zelenski.

Key Russian city 'under attack': Explosions near nuclear facility

Uranium Plant Explosion in Russia Sparks Nuclear Radiation Fears

Footage showing what appears to be a missile strike in an area near a
Russian military nuclear facility has surfaced online.

The Voronezh 45 nuclear weapons storage site, which houses Soviet-era
warheads, was accessed by Wagner units during their recent mutiny in
Russia, according to the Freedom of Russia Legion.

Now, it appears an area close to the site may be under attack as
challenges to the Kremlin's military rule seemingly rumble on.

Pro-Ukrainians and vocal Russia critics have shared several clips
circulating on Twitter and Telegram suggesting Voronezh - a city located
300 km east of Ukraine's border with Belgorod - is "under attack".

Igor Sushko, a vocal commentator on the Ukraine war, shared multiple
videos of the incident on Twitter, captioning one: "Voronezh in Russia
is under attack! Doubtful this has anything to do with Ukraine. Appears
to be internal Russian developments. The Voronezh-45 nuclear military
facility captured by Wagner PMC during the coup is in the area."

Voronezh sits on the Voronezh River in southwestern Russia.

According to Kyrylo Budanov, the head of Ukraine's military
intelligence, Wagner Group fighters attempting to dislodge the Kremlin's
top military generals had advanced further into Russia than originally
    believed last month

In fact, Ukrainian intelligence mapped a "surveillance trail goes cold
about 100 km from the nuclear base, Voronezh-45", he told Reuters.

Meanwhile, the Freedom of Russia Legion, a Ukrainian-based paramilitary
group of Russian citizens, claimed in an interview with Express.co.uk
that a large group of Wagner fighters were able gain access to the
Voronezh 45 site without meeting any resistance.

The Legion's commander, whose nom de guerre is Caesar, said: "I want
people around the world to understand the seriousness of the danger we
    are facing.

"The Zaporizhzhia nuclear power station has been mined and the situation
with Prigozhin showed that any powerful criminal group can take control
    of Russia's nuclear arsenal.

"We have reliable information that during the mutiny one of his units - consisting of 21 armored vehicles and over 100 soldiers - took under its control the nuclear weapons storage site Voronezh 45."

Russia's nuclear storage system is based on 12 central sites, such as
    Voronezh 45 and about 35 base-level facilities - essentially a military
    base within a military base.

Budanov says that Voronezh-45 "is one of the facilities that
significantly raises the stakes" if "you are prepared to fight until the
    last man standing".

He claimed Wagner troops descended on the site but said the "doors of
the storage were closed and they didn't get into the technical section".

The Kremlin has sought to discredit claims Prigozhin's men were close to seizing control of the facility during their botched coup attempt last
    month.

Dmitry Peskov, Putin's spokesperson, told reporters that he "does not
have information" on the allegations and argued they could have been
falsified, Russia's TASS news agency reported.

Putin has not been shy of boasting of Russia's significant nuclear
arsenal and his willingness to use it in stark threats made amid the
    Ukraine conflict.

President Joe Biden said during a press conference in Helsinki that
there is "no real prospect of Putin using nuclear weapons" when asked
about whether Putin could escalate actions in Ukraine following the
    failed mutiny attempt.

It marked an apparent U-turn on Biden's earlier stance, in which the
president suggested Putin may be tempted to draw from his nuclear
stockpile. He blasted Putin's decision to deploy tactical nuclear
weapons to Belarus as "absolutely irresponsible" as he indicated the
    Russian president could use them.

US ‘debases itself’ by sending cluster munitions to Ukraine – Elon Musk

    https://www.rt.com/russia/579779-musk-cluster-munitions-ukraine/

The US has ‘debased’ itself by supplying Ukraine with widely banned
cluster munitions, Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk has said, adding that
the weapons will not have a significant impact on the conflict.

Writing on Twitter on Saturday, the billionaire said: “We have run out
of normal ammunition to send Ukraine, so now send them cluster bombs in desperation, debasing ourselves with no change to the outcome.”

Musk praised the efforts of the 98 House Republicans and 49 Democrats
who voted to ban the transfer of cluster munitions to Ukraine, but
ultimately failed to make a difference. “Thank you for trying to stop
this debasement of America,” he said.

The US approved the delivery of cluster munitions to Kiev earlier this
month, with President Joe Biden calling the move a stopgap measure to
allow military production to catch up with soaring demand as both
Washington and Kiev are running low on ordinary munitions.

Russia warns US about cluster bombs
Read more Russia warns US about cluster bombs
Cluster munitions are banned in more than 100 countries because when
they explode, they release a large number of bomblets across a wide area
which often fail to detonate, posing a serious threat to civilians for
many years after the fighting is over.

Many of Washington’s long-time allies, including the UK, Canada, and
Germany, have expressed concerns about the decision, saying they will
not send the controversial munitions to Kiev.

Russian officials have condemned the delivery of cluster munitions.
Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova warned that while the move
will not change the outcome of the conflict, it de facto makes
Washington “an accomplice in mining [Ukraine’s] territory,” which means that it “will share full responsibility for the deaths… of both Russian
    and Ukrainian children.”

Russian Defense Minister Sergey Shoigu warned that

Russia thinks this is inhumane. We don't want to upset Russia.

Russia is a white Christian democracy, and Putin is a devout white
    Christian.

It's not the *American* government that's disintegrating into pieces with everybody trying
to save their own ass and fuck everybody else.

They're all laying low, hiding from each other. I'll by surprised if the Russian
government survives unchanged until fall. By US Thanksgiving we should have seen some
    major changes in Moscow.

It could be worse. According doomsayers, Putin has been ruining
Russians outside the St Petersburg Moscow axis, so Russia might
rip apart into half a dozen new countries. Then we can watch
    Gettysburg with nuclear weapons.

It tore apart in 1990-1992 into several different countries. It's giving every evidence
of trying desperately not to fall apart again. Apparently the USSR hasn't stopped
collapsing yet. Maybe because it's being run by a KGB trained agent?

The counter offensive seems to be crawling along.

Ukraine admits troops advancing, "not so quickly." "If we are going to see that something
is going wrong, we'll say so. No one is going to embellish," the vice president said.
"We have to find effective solutions to problems." Recently action has greatly slowed as
    Ukraine paused to rethink.

The Russians are waiting for demining equipment to show up on the battlefield so they can
hit it with artillery. Ukraine, for its part, is spending huge numbers of drones to
search for and target Russian artillery within HIMARS range.

Turkey says Putin has agreed to grain deal extension. Moscow news refutes this saying
that Putin declined the extension. This means Turkey is escorting grain ships and Putin
is left with the choice of shooting at them.

South Africa dis invites Putin to BRICS because they are treaty obliged to arrest him.
Moscow insists Putin is to be allowed to attend.

South Korea has increased aid to Ukraine again, $150M in domestic aid this time.

Poland and South Korea have cut a deal for SK defense contractors to build weapons and
equipment in Poland. The Poles are phasing in new SK and US weapons and equipment and
Ukraine is getting Poland's, mostly Soviet, culls.
