Facebook displays a list of contacts under a heading Contacts on the RHS
of the Home screen on the website version of Facebook.

Facecbook home page with the Contacts list on the RHS (I've blanked out
photos and names).
I can't see a way to delete entries from that list. A lot of Google
suggestions tell me to go into the Friends tab and delete entries there. However the Contacts list contains entries for people who are not in my
Friends list and never have been.
