Wow.
Okay, I am a Linux shop and a YUGE advocate of Fedora Linux.
I have to say though, the hype over W10 ending is really
overblown. W11 is essentially W10 with an even stupider
interface. Install Open Shell on it and you won't be able
to tell the difference, unless you deliberately go looking
for it. All your programs should still work. With Open
Shell installed, there is really very little new to learn.
Transitioning to Linux is a YUGE undertaking. Not
minor like W10 to W11.
My 2 cents.
Yeah, well, to use any OS effectively requires skills. There's
nothing so unique about Winblows being easy to use, it's based upon
what one is doing with it, whether they get into PowerShell and such.
Is there more that requires the terminal with Linux? Yes. But if you
want a simple machine, Web/email/office, Linux is easy as pie.
Hi Joel,
Turbo Tax and Quicken are home user Linux killers. There
is GNU Cash, but it is not EXACTLY the same.
I agree. Linux use to be difficult to operate years ago.
But it was a lot of years ago. MATE, Xfce, KDE and
all really really simple to use: far simpler that W11's
rip off of Chromebooks GUI. Gnome is way too weird for
me though.
In over 30 years of ding this, I have been unable to convert any
business over to Linux as they must have their M$ Office,
QuickBooks, Adobe... I have a few Linux servers out there.
