[About 'Gmailify' from *Google*:]
I have 5 email accounts: my domain, my provider, 1 hotmail (which I
never mail from), 1 personal Gmail and one 'group' Gmail.
I currently use Betterbird as my client on my smartphone.
I just got a text extolling the virtues of 'Gmailify'. Clearly, clarity
is not one of their virtues as reading the text and looking at a video,
it just seemed more confusing than my present setup.
Can anyone who uses it or has tried it and does no longer use it, put me
in the picture.
I have not tried the 'Gmailify' function, but a long, long time ago, I
used the 'Add a mail account' function in the settings of the Gmail
web-mailer, which is one of the first steps in the Gmailify process [1].
With that first step, one can retrieve e-mail from other e-mail
accounts. I also configured 'Send mail as:' to send e-mail from these
other accounts.
Since then, I have configured all my accounts in (Windows) Thunderbird because all my MSPs (Mail Service Providers) allow their POP/IMAP/SMTP
servers to be used on other (than the currently used ISP network), so I
no longer use the Gmail 'Add a mail account'/'Send mail as:' functions.
Given your scenario, using Betterbird on your smartphone, I see no
advantages of using Gmailify (or just retrieving/sending e-mail), unless
you want to be able to use the Gmail web-mailer when you can *not* use
your smartphone, for example on any other device which has a
web-browser.
Hope this helps.
